The Convenience of Installing Commercial Lifts

  • Written by News Co Media

Buildings often have more than two or three floors and for easier movement between floors for both people and goods, commercial lifts are the most comfortable transport systems.

Where Are They Installed

Commercial lifts are considered ideal for use in offices, malls, schools, other commercial areas, and even for apartments in high rise buildings. They are seen as increasingly crucial for the conduct and increase of business. These lifts such as Platinum Elevators can be very elegant and thus add to the aesthetics of the building in which they are installed. Increasing floors in buildings have led to these installations becoming a necessity more than any sophisticated element in a building.

The Use of Commercial Lifts

Most commercial lifts are for the use of the general public, and this requires them to be installed as per laws and regulations that govern their use. Some lifts in hotels and other commercial places are for the exclusive use of its staff or goods. Dumb waiters in hotels for moving food, laundry and other items are an example. Lifts in hospitals also require to cater for the movement of patients on stretchers. Commercial lifts work on hydraulics or electricity and can lift weights to six thousand pounds.

Increased Mobility

The high speeds of commercial lifts that can be between 200 and 500 feet per minutes lead to increased mobility between floors. They are especially useful in hospitals where patients need to be moved on stretchers or wheelchairs and are often immobile on their own. These lifts will have wider doors and weight capacities to allow such patients to be easily moved. Movements from floor to floor can be in a matter of seconds due to the high speeds that they work at.

Space Advantage

Lifts also require much less area than stairs, which require lots of space for their gradual rise, and widths needed to accommodate a greater number of people in commercial buildings. Commercial lifts reduce traffic in stairwells, and this can result in smaller staircases. Staircase remains mandatory in commercial buildings to serve as an alternative to lifts during power failures or other malfunction of lifts.

Lifting of Heavy Loads Made Easy

In many commercial buildings, it is necessary to move heavy loads from one floor to another and this is made easier if there is a commercial lift installed that can take the load. Many commercial buildings will have special goods lifts with wider entrances and larger lifting capacity, so that this movement of goods is facilitated. You will find commercial lifts installed in warehouses and factories where work is required to be carried out at different levels. While laws and building codes do not require lifts for buildings having fewer than three stories, you will still find commercial lifts installed in places like hospitals, malls, and airports among others.

Commercial lifts do make working and visiting much easier in buildings, and also go a long way in saving people coming or working in these establishments a lot of time. They are seen now as more of a necessity and convenience than becoming just an additional amenity.
