Here’s How to Repaint Your Office Right!

A little repaint will go a long way, if you do it right! The colours that surround your staff have a real impact on the office mood. You’ve chosen the colours in your branding to communicate exactly how you want your customers to feel about your business. Now it’s time to bring it into the office!

In the next five minutes, you’ll know exactly how to repaint your office with the assistance of commercial painters!

Choosing the Right Colours for You and Your Business

Everyone a little lethargic and uninspired? There’s a colour for that! What colours should you repaint your office to get the best results from your team? Glad you asked!

Most importantly, stay on brand. Your brand values are vital to your overall marketing strategy, so choose wisely. And if you are looking for something new, just to liven things up a little, remember, everything in moderation.

1. Repaint Yellow and Aqua

Yellow and aqua are very cheerful, and just a wall or two can immediately lift spirits. You certainly don’t have to paint the whole office in these colours, however if you’re in a creative space, they are particularly great for designers who thrive on innovation and imagination to deliver top results.

Not all aqua is created equal. The Pantone Colour of the Year a few years back was a delightful shade of aqua. If there’s aqua in your logo, then a feature wall, or even pops of colour will give your space a lovely chill feel. And remember, too much yellow is bad for the temper! Yellow is a warm bright colour, don’t repaint a little meeting room stark yellow…. It’ll end in tears!

2. Repaint in Blue

Blue is the go-to branded colour for trust, stability, professionalism, and loyalty. Who wouldn’t want those brand values in the workplace? Blue also inspires motivation, depending on the shade; bright blues evoke stimulation, whilst lighter shades bring about trust and calm.

3. Repaint Red

We all know that red is strong and bold. It’s especially useful in more physical workplaces like gyms and retail where red is the go-to colour to alert shoppers to bargains. As with all colours, moderation is key; red, as with other bold colours, can also make people feel a little agitated. And hungry! Ever noticed how many fast food restaurants use red?

4. Repainting White

White, in its many variations, has been the choice of colour for just about everything these last few years. Everyone can blame the Hamptons trend for that. But, from a psychological point of view, white isn’t the best choice for an office repaint.

Sterile. Cold. Uninspiring.

That doesn’t mean white walls can’t play a vital part in the backdrop, but adding more inspiring colours will stop your workplace from feeling like a cold, isolated place to be. A feature wall, a few colour pops, some on brand highlights…this will totally lift the mood, adding a little happiness back into the office, while still retaining some of the neutral aspect.

5. Repainting Green

Green as a colour has been used in clinical situations for years for its growth and healing feels. Greens are also the colour of primary schools and prison hallways, because psychologists suggest that green can keep people from engaging in conflict.

Calm. Natural. Organic.

Think about it! Lately, green has been carrying a new kind of weight. Not only does it reflect those natural values, but it also gives staff intuitive feelings around progressive thought, bold ideas, and exciting futures. In the past few years, recruitment companies especially have opted for green in their branding as it’s said to make candidates feel like there’s a future at the company.

The Psychology of Paint Colours

The psychology behind paint colours is very intriguing and interesting. If you have a small business, why not include staff into the colour decision, as the basis of re-painting is to create a happy and productive environment for all. Whilst many appreciate a beautiful Hamptons room, and the finished product is always very luxurious, there’s nothing better than an office repaint with a bit of soul. Partner with a professional commercial painter who can take your visions and turn them into a reality.
